Gabby Leier, MSIS’24, has combined her undergraduate degree in psychology with the Kelley School’s innovative MS in Information Systems to launch a career at the intersection of business and technology.

Gabby Leier, MSIS’24, interned as an Engineering Business Analyst at Grainger, in Chicago, and will return full-time after graduation.
Gabby completed a summer internship as an Engineering Business Analyst at Grainger in Chicago and will return for a full-time position after graduating. During her internship, she focused on streamlining order processing systems, serving as a vital link between developers and six different business units.
“I feel that what set me apart at work was my ability to fluently speak both technical and business languages. This skill not only saved time but also enhanced efficiency, fostering seamless communication between these critical spheres. My success in this role was deeply rooted in my experiences with the MSIS program.”
Business and technology courses prepared her to succeed in workplace
Gabby said courses like Agile Processes and Automation, Enterprise Platforms, and Business Transformation Strategy equipped her with the essential skills to tackle workplace challenges.
“The MSIS program constantly challenged me, preparing me for the real world. I walked out of the classroom every day having learned something new, giving me the confidence to continue learning in my work environment. In fact, I worked on 8 completely different technologies and tools during my internship including SAP ECC, Simplified Order Entry Systems, Apache Kafka, JIRA, Confluence!”
